The historic North is the most popular tourism place of Ethiopia. You will visit fabulous sites such as the amazing palaces in Gondar built in 17th century, the granite stele of Axum and also the rock hewn churches of Lalibela (one the Eight Wonders of the World) or of Tigray around Gerhalta. You will also appreciate sceneries, beautiful nature and endemic animals in the Simien National Park. The tour will continue until Harar (East part of Ethiopia) known as one of Islam’s holiest centre. On the way, you will visit Awash National Park well known for the wild life in Ethiopia. You will have also the time in order to meet the charming Ethiopian people.

This 15-day tour through Ethiopia offers an unforgettable journey through the country’s rich history, diverse landscapes, and vibrant cultures. The adventure begins in Addis Ababa, where you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel, with the option to explore the bustling city depending on your arrival time. The next day, you’ll fly to Mekele for a short city tour before continuing to Hawzien, visiting the historic Abraha Atbeha rock church along the way. The journey then takes you to Axum, stopping at the ancient Yeha Temple. In Axum, you’ll explore fascinating archaeological sites, including the Church of Saint Mary of Zion, the tombs of King Kaleb, and the Axum Museum, revealing the city’s glorious past as the capital of the Axumite Empire.

Continuing the adventure, you’ll travel through Tigray, passing the scenic Tekezze Gorge on your way to the breathtaking Simien Mountains National Park. Here, you’ll embark on guided hiking excursions around Sankaber, Jinbar waterfalls, and Chenek, surrounded by stunning landscapes and unique wildlife. The journey proceeds to Gondar, with a visit to the Ploughshare Women Crafts Training Centre. In Gondar, you’ll discover the palaces of King Fassiladas, Debre Birhan Selassie Church, and Queen Mentawab’s historic residence at Kusquam.

From Gondar, you’ll travel to Bahir Dar, where you’ll experience the natural beauty of the Blue Nile Falls and take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the island monasteries. The tour continues with a scenic drive to Lalibela, home to the magnificent rock-hewn churches, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its unique architecture and ancient paintings. After exploring Lalibela, you’ll journey to Kombolcha, visiting the Genet Mariam rock-hewn church and Lake Hayek. The adventure then leads to Awash National Park, where you’ll enjoy a game drive and bird-watching among diverse wildlife.

The tour takes an exciting turn with a visit to Harar, where you’ll experience the famous hyena feeding show and explore the vibrant streets of the ancient walled city. From Harar, you’ll travel to Dire Dawa before flying back to Addis Ababa. The journey concludes with a sightseeing tour of Addis Ababa, including visits to the National Archaeological Museum and Mercato, Africa’s largest open-air market. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a traditional farewell dinner with folkloric dances before your departure.
