The Bale Mountain National Park offers superb walks treks to view the scenery and the endemic wildlife, bird life and plants. The Bale Mountains National Park is home to a multitude of unique flora and fauna species, as well as several endemic species of mammal : the Mountain Nyala, Simien fox and Ethiopian Wolf. The park is dominated by Tullu Deemtu, which is the second highest peak in Ethiopia at 4,377m above sea level. This trek takes you in the largest Afro Alpine habitat in the whole of Africa. It is an area of high altitude plateau that is fragmented by numerous remarkable volcanic plugs and peaks, beautiful alpine lakes and mountain streams. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be transferred to your hotel and, depending on your arrival time, you may be able to enjoy a city tour, which includes visits to the archaeological and ethnological museums, the bustling Mercato market, and the scenic Entoto Mountains. On Day 2, the journey will take you from Addis Ababa to Lake Langano, located in the heart of the Great East African Rift Valley, with stops at Bishftu and Ziway Lakes along the way. The next day, you will drive to Dinsho, located at 3,000 meters, the headquarters of the Bale Mountains National Park, a great place to spot endemic wildlife such as Menelik Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, and the African bush dicker. Day 4 starts with a scenic trek to Soddota, known for its population of giant mole rats and predators. Trekking through farmers' villages, you'll stop at scenic spots and enjoy the Finchaha Habera waterfalls. On Day 5, you will continue your journey with a trek to Wasama, where you'll have the chance to spot the endemic Ethiopian wolf. The trek continues to Garba Guracha, known as the Black Lake, on Day 6, where you'll enjoy Afro-alpine vegetation and panoramic views. Day 7 will bring you to Sanate, the highest point of the trek, where you can spot more Ethiopian wolves and enjoy breathtaking views. After your trekking adventures, Day 8 will see you driving to Awassa, where you'll visit the Goba area, known for birding and hippo spotting by the lakeside. On the final day, you will visit the famous fish market in Awassa before driving back to Addis Ababa, making a stop at Tiya Stele Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, before concluding the journey with a farewell dinner featuring traditional Ethiopian dances and dishes.
